Terms of Use

The short version: gopdfrab is open-source software, provided as-is, with no warranty.

1. Nature of the project

gopdfrab is open-source software distributed on GitHub. This site is informational documentation for the library. It also hosts two browser tools — the PDF/A validator and the PDF to PDF/A converter — which run the gopdfrab WebAssembly build inside your own browser. No document you open in them is uploaded to or stored on any server.

2. License

Use of the gopdfrab source code is governed by the license published in its GitHub repository, not by this page.

3. No warranty

gopdfrab is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. A passing PDF/A verification result is not a legal guarantee of archival compliance for any specific use case.

4. The browser tools

The validator and converter on this site are provided as a demonstration of the library, on the same "as is" terms and with no warranty. Their output carries no guarantee of any kind: a document reported as conforming is not certified as conforming, and a converted file is not guaranteed to be valid, complete, visually identical to its input, or fit for archival or any other purpose. Verify anything that matters against your own requirements before relying on it, and keep your original file.

Because the tools run entirely in your browser, they depend on your browser's WebAssembly support and available memory, and may fail on large or damaged documents. No availability is promised and the tools may change or be withdrawn at any time.

5. Limitation of liability

The maintainer, IT-Dienstleistungen Thomas Karner e.U., shall not be held liable for any damages, financial losses, or legal issues arising from the use of, or inability to use, this library, this website, or the browser tools it hosts — including any loss of or damage to documents processed with them.
